Your First Lesson At Beechwood!
Arrive 20 minutes before your lesson to allow sufficient time to fill in a registration form and borrow a hat and/or boots if required.
You're most welcome to visit the stables to meet the horses and discuss your requirements with an instructor. Please make an appointment as we may be busy training or exercising the horses and not available to show you around should you turn up unexpectedly.
Comfortable clothing with long trousers or jodhpurs. A top with sleeves and strong shoes or boots. NO trainers, sandals or shoes with buckles. Avoid dangly earrings or necklaces. It is also advisable to wear gloves when riding.
BSI standard hats are available for the unhated beginner. We recommend regular riders to buy their own hat, correctly fitted by the retailer. Hats can be purchased locally from Woldingham Saddlery.
We also strongly recommend that all riders who wish to jump, wear body protectors. Mandatory for riders under 16 years of age as soon as they start trotting poles.
